Etchings
Between 1973 and 1975, O’Connor pursued his interest in etching and produced two series of etchings, the first, “In Nomine Domini”, a series based on the lives of early English composers accompanying texts by Michael Schützer-Weissmann, which were printed by Hugh Stoneman at the Islington Studio in London and were exhibited in 1974 at the Marlborough Gallery, London, and a series of Window Views exhibited subsequently at the Oxford Gallery with other individual etchings. He also started at that time a series of etchings – illustrations to the reedition of “The Chymical Wedding” by Christian Rosenkreutz – in collaboration with Ian Mortimer, O.B.E. (whose press I.M. Imprimit was responsible for the printing of the texts of the folio “In Nomine Domini”) but the sponsor of this last project, Glyn Welby-Everard, unfortunately died before its completion.
